Maintenance Worker I (Landscaping)

Department: Public Works/Landscaping Department

Position Hours: Full-Time, 8:00am – 5:00pm; may include weekends and holidays as well as On-Call work.

Job Duties:

Ø Perform grounds maintenance duties including mowing, weeding, mulching, weed eating, pruning, raking, and general cleaning

Ø Clean streets and curbsides by removing accumulated debris

Ø Ability to work with a variety of basic tools such as lawn mowers, edgers, weed eaters, trimmers, shovels, etc.

Ø Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and exposure to pollen and noise

Minimum Qualifications:

Ø Requires a high school diploma or GED, current driver’s license, and experience operating basic gardening tools and equipment

Ø Experience in grounds or maintenance work preferred

Ø Ability to operate light- to medium-duty machinery and landscaping tools

Ø Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors for extended periods

Ø Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends and evenings

Ø Strong work ethic and commitment to safety

Pay Info: Based on experience
