Water Distribution & Collection Operator

Water Distribution & Collection Operator

Department: Public Works/Utilities Department

Position Hours: Full-Time, 8:30am – 5:00pm; may include weekends and holidays as well as On-Call work.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain, install and repair water and sewer services; Operates, maintains and repairs motor equipment and equipment at water and wastewater facilities. Performs maintenance on wells, pump stations, towers, wastewater plant; maintains grounds and buildings of the plant. Read water meters; Interact and communicate with customers, co-workers, supervisors and consultants; and prepare/process various documents and reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED, current Driver’s License, and one to two years of relevant training and experience. A South Carolina Class “D” Water Treatment Operator license is preferred.
  • Must obtain a South Carolina Class “D” Water Treatment Operator License within first year of employment.

 

Pay Info: Based on experience

Maintenance Worker II (Streets)

Maintenance Worker II (Streets)

Department: Public Works/Street Department

Position Hours: Full-Time, 8:00am – 5:00pm; may include weekends and holidays as well as On-Call work.

Job Duties:

  • Operate flatbed truck to haul trash and debris from the City to the landfill.
  • Picks up leaves, limbs and debris from City streets.
  • Inspects equipment periodically to ensure proper working condition.
  • Utilizes various tools in the performance of daily tasks including shovels, pitch forks, axes, bush axes, rakes, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED, current Driver’s License, and experience operating flatbed truck or other relevant experience.

Engineer/Firefighter

Engineer/Firefighter

Department: Fire

Position Hours: Full-Time, Shifts

Job Duties:   Responds to emergency situations on a 24/48 hours basis; performs rescue and fire control; Administers first aid and medical treatment as needed; Prepares and processes various records and reports including vehicle inventory records, training sheets, maintenance reports, incident reports, fire reports, pre-planning sheets, letters, fire inspection reports.     


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent. Three to five years of fire-fighting experience is required or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certification from the SC Fire Academy is a plus. Must possess a valid SC Drivers License. Should have training in pump operation and be able to deliver any and all needed water flows from all pump equipment owned or used by the City of Manning. Must maintain passing scores on all in-house training provided by the Manning Fire Department and training required by the SC Fire Academy.

Pay Info: $26,500-$30,000
